Marc's Mortgage Matter's

A letter I received and wholeheartedly agree. May this year be a positive year in every sense of the word!

Friends,

Well, this is THE limit. In its latest issue, TIME Magazine accuses Israelis of having it too good! They are wallowing in cash, they don't care about peace anymore....

Sorry TIME that we didn't all go into mass depression after Oslo and the worst terrorist attacks on a civilian population in human history. We don't care about peace? Would you, if all your efforts resulted in streets filled with children's blood? Brides blown up the night before their wedding? Babies shot between the eyes by snipers?

Only 60 years after the Holocaust, Israelis took the most enormous leap of
faith, signing a peace accord with a known terrorist, shaking his hand for
Pete's sake! And when this delusional or heroic attempt at imagining the best resulted in the worst, yes, Israelis forgot about peace, not because they don't want it, but because they understand no one is offering it to them.

As for Israelis being smart enough to turn their little desert into a blooming high-tech miracle and avoid the pitfalls of the Americans who destroyed their economy and their educational system and culture with trashy ideas and a bleeding heart ideology, whose fault is that?

Israelis, many of whom are second or third generation survivors, have an
atom bomb hanging over their heads thanks to Americans and Europeans and
still more trashy, bleeding heart ideas. So, yes, we go to the beach. We buy good wines. We work hard. We take care of our poor. We don't whine. And we don't expect miracles. We expect the worst, and we make the most of the best. That's not a source of shame. It's something the idiot at TIME, Karl Vick, who wrote the article, and his editors and subscribers could learn from.

And before you follow in the wake of you sister-trash-always-wrong "news"
magazine, NEWSWEEK, why not do a cover story on why Palestinians don't want peace? I assure you that many pictures are available of Palestinians on the beautiful beach in Gaza, in fancy hotels and restaurants. But I guess it's
not much of a news story. After all, you and the rest of the world, have
known that for years.

Shana Tova,
Naomi
