I have previously been with Fairmont Funding Ltd for over ten years. In April of 2007 I joined Odyssey Funding during extreme turmoil in the mortgage industry for about 18 months. A short stint at Wall Street Mortgage (aka Power Express) that lasted thankfully only a few weeks. Returning to Fairmont Funding until they ceased writing residential loans early in 2010.
I've been in the mortgage industry since 1995, and have vigorously fought prepayment penalty loans, Option arm 1-2% high risk loans and so forth, that were offered in the past few years with hundreds of clients saved and thankful for being steered away from those now infamous loan programs. Like most mortgage originators I was bombarded with special deals, cuts, and commissions - each one was shown the door! And alas, unlike most other loan salespeople, I don't have any clients that are, or where in foreclosure because of a sub-prime mortgage loan closed by my office.
